This summer, fashion has taken a bit of an interesting turn because no one is vacationing in Italy or Paris, showing off their latest vintage "summer in Europe" looks. Instead, sweatpants and tennis skirts have been all the rage (not that I'm complaining). Today, I'm giving you all the 4-1-1 on the latest summer trends that you would want to get your hands on!
1. Bright Dresses

No fashion trend describes summer more than bright dresses do. If you're looking to make a statement or you're just in a rush to get dressed for the day but you still need to look put together, throwing on a bright dress will never fail you! One of the best things about summer dresses is that they don't take much styling because they are the statement piece - how convenient is that!
Personally, some of my favorite brands to shop when it comes to bright, fun summer dresses are Who What Wear Collection, H&M, and Zara. Their dress collections always feature vibrant patterns without sacrificing comfort, and they're offered for reasonable prices.

2. Tennis Skirts
Tennis skirts have taken the fashion industry by storm and I have never stood behind a trend more! Of course, I'm a sucker for any type of skort, so when I discovered that tennis skirts were making a comeback, I absolutely had to get my hands on one!
Tennis skirts are the perfect piece to pair with your preppy outfit - you'll look like a Beverly Hills baby just finishing up with her tennis lessons (minus all the sweat and flushed cheeks).
3. Preppy Cardigans/Sweaters
To go along with the tennis skirt trend, preppy sweaters and cardigans have teamed up and taken over our social media feeds! For bonus "prep" to add to your outfit, you can throw on a collared shirt under your sweater and leave it untucked.
For the summer months, you can pair your cardigan with a tank top, sweat shorts or a tennis skirt, and you're good to go - you've instantly become one of the trendiest people on the street!
4. Sweat Shorts
One of my favorite trends this year has definitely been sweat shorts - I have been wearing them like there's no tomorrow! Personally, I love when trends are also the comfiest choice in the fashion world, so I don't hesitate to pick up news pairs of sweat shorts when I get the chance.
Once again, sweat shorts are another super cheap option these days - you can get them at virtually any store you step into (or online if you're still playing it safe and not mall hopping like some of us....), and they probably won't break the bank.
5. Mules, Mules & More Mules!
Ever since last season, mules have becomes one of the most popular shoes of choice in the fashion world. Although they keep making various comebacks throughout the years, recently, mules have taken a huge step and they're more vibrant than ever before.
Mules are the perfect summer shoe because they're the quickest shoes to slide on and off, they match essentially any outfit, and they provide comfort like no other! If you're looking to pick up some new summer shoes, I highly suggest searching for a few pairs of mules to add to your shoe collection!
6. Heeled Flip Flops
Some may consider heeled flip flops apart of the mules family, but I think they're in another world of their own. Iconic 90's pieces always seem to sneak their way back into current trends and heeled flip flops were certainly no exception.
Heeled flip flops have a way of making you feel like the rich soccer mom picking up her boys from practice - in the best way possible. Sadly, I haven't been able to get my hands on a pair of these trendy sandals just yet, but when I do, you all will be the first to see!
7. Hair Clips
Hair clips seem to be one of the trends that just don't fade over time - whether it's because of their practical value or the fact that we continue to make them trendier over time, hair clips have a special place in many of our hearts.
I think that one of the best things about hair clips, is that it doesn't take many of them to amplify your look. You could throw on just a single pearl hair clip and you automatically look like you took hours to get ready in the morning, even if you woke up a half hour ago!
8. PEARLS.
I cannot stress enough how trendy pearls are right now. If you're following even a single fashion blogger on social media, then chances are you've seen them post about some pearl-covered accessory. Pearl bags, hair clips, and necklaces are all the rage.
Honestly, I think that the pearl trend is one of the cutest trends so far this year - it's super vintage, adds a unique touch to your outfit, and at the moment, the bags are a bit hard to come by in stores. (so, you may be the only person around with a pearl bag!)
9. Corset Tops
Who doesn't love a snatched waist and bust?
Surprisingly, corset tops have made waves in the fashion world ever since last season and it's giving me major Victorian vibes (in a good way). Luckily for us though, corset tops have become a lot more comfortable - we can actually breathe normally when we wear them!
Corset tops definitely caught me by surprise the first time I realized they were trending, but they've become one of my favorite trends of all time. I love any fashion statement reminiscent of the Victorian and Rococo eras so corset tops definitely have my vote!
10. Babydoll Dresses
Babydoll dresses are the perfect summer dress because they're usually super casual and great to wear around the house.
If you're looking to feel like Blair Waldorf prancing around her house in her heeled slippers and night gowns, babydoll dresses are the perfect fit for you!
