My skincare routine has improved immensely since the last time I updated you guys.
Most Important:
Regulating what I put into my body
First things first - you have to pay attention to what you're eating and drinking!! Unless you were born with naturally flawless skin (we all know that one person), then you have to regulate your daily intake.
Personally, I know that dairy makes me break out almost immediately - so I tend to stay away from dairy (mainly cheese) as much as I can. This is a pretty difficult task for me because cheese is my life! And, of course, you need to stay hydrated, but you already knew that!
Step 1:
Exfoliate with Garnier Skin Active Exfoliating Face Scrub - Green Tea
The first step to my cleansing routine is using my exfoliating scrub by Garnier. I rinse with warm water to open up my pores and then I go all in! I like to use this exfoliant twice a day - which I'm sure some of you would cringe at the thought of, but it actually works very well for me. Since using this exfoliant twice a day, my skin texture has disappeared and my skin is smoother than ever.
Step 2:
Cleanse with Garnier Skin Active Face Wash - Green Tea
Next, before rinsing off the exfoliant from my face, I cleanse with my Garnier face wash. I like this cleanser because it doesn't dry out my skin and it really gets deep into my pores. The green tea line from Garnier is especially useful for my skin because it's geared towards oily skin and really helps with shine control.
Step 3:
Double Cleanse/Tone with Garnier Skin Active Micellar Water - Mattifying
Third, I like to go in with micellar water on a cotton round - I highly suggest the Q-Tip Brand cotton rounds because they don't fall apart while you're using them like some others do (no shade, just facts)! Micellar water really helps remove whatever might be lingering on your skin after you've washed your face/neck.
I also use micellar water to remove my makeup if I'm wearing any. I find that the best way to remove eye makeup is to put micellar water on two cotton rounds, place them on both of your eyes for a couple minutes, and then gently rub the makeup off - it works like a charm!
Step 4:
Moisturize with Garnier Skin Active Gel Moisture Rescue - Normal/Combo
Next, I like to moisturize with a gel moisturizer by Garnier. From my past experiences with moisturizers, I find that gel ones are the best for my skin because they are super light but get the job done! Personally, I would only ever use a heavy cream moisturizer if I have a dry patch - but only in that specific area.
Step 5:
Apply Sunscreen - Garnier Skin Active Clearly Brighter SPF 30 with Vitamin C
Sunscreen is definitely one of my top priorities when it comes to skincare. Sunscreen is great for keeping dark spots at bay and helping them lighten over time. I personally love the Garnier sunscreen because it has visibly changed my skin and it's super light so it doesn't clog my pores or break me out. The added benefit of Vitamin C is also amazing because it aids in skin cell regeneration!
Step 6:
Spot Treat with Burt's Bees Natural Acne Solutions Maximum Strength Spot Treatment
After all of my cleansing is finished, I like to go in with my spot treatment to help clear any blemishes I may have. Usually, I will apply this spot treatment by Burt's Bees in the morning and at night, just to get those pesky pimples off my face!
Step 7:
(Night time)
Spot Treat with Avarelle Acne Absorbing Cover Patches
To add extra treatment, I apply pimple patches to any blemishes that I've already spot treated. These patches help pull out toxins in your pimples so that you can get rid of them faster. By using my current method of spot treatment, I can usually get rid of pimples in just a couple days!
**Disclaimer: this post was not sponsored, I just stand by all of these products for my skin!
Until next time,
