10 Last Minute Valentine's Day Ideas

Still stressing over what to do for Valentine's Day? Well, worry not, I've got you covered with 10 last-minute Valentine's Day ideas!

1 - Go on a Picnic

My personal favorite includes spending time outside in great weather (if you're lucky enough to live somewhere that is having great weather right now), and eating! Picnics are usually a good idea because you can go shopping for the food together or make it at home which is always a fun little adventure.

Plus, picnics happen to be super wallet friendly!

2 - Do DIY's

If you, and/or whoever you're spending Valentine's Day with, love spending your time doing DIY's on a regular basis, try looking up some fun new crafts that you all could do together. DIY's are great because now both of you will be creating something that you'll hopefully use/wear often.

If you're stuck on what to DIY, I recommend looking up cool ideas on TikTok, YouTube, or simply thinking about something that you'd both love to have but can't make the commitment of spending much money on.

3 - Go Thrift Shopping

In my opinion, thrift shopping is one of the most underrated activities. Here me out, you get to go shopping for a fraction of the cost; no brainer! There are tons of great thrift shops in your area, I'm sure, and they're all just one Google Maps search away.

If you're someone who doesn't like wearing/owning pre-owned goods, I encourage you to get over that phase of your life because thrift shopping is a magical experience. But, if you're strictly opposed to that idea, then there's more for us!

4 - Go to Dinner

Going out to dinner is always a great excuse to get dressed up for your partner, or whoever you're spending the day with. Plus, you can always try out a new restaurant or try a new dish at your favorite place together.

While going out to dinner isn't always the most cost-effective date idea, your stomachs will thank you later, and you'll probably get to enjoy a really great nap after the food you just had!

5 - Have a Movie Night

Whether you're the couple that likes to binge watch tv shows and movies, or you just enjoy watching a movie here and there, movie nights are always the perfect excuse to stay in all night and eat all of your favorite snacks.

Personally, I love taking a walk, or quick drive, to the nearest gas station to pick up my favorite unhealthy snacks before having a lazy night in.

6 - Cook Dinner & Dessert

For those of us who enjoy a great meal but are usually too lazy to actually cook a great meal, Valentine's Day is the perfect time to get out of lazy town and cook a meal with a loved one.

Along with your meal, you can also make dessert and make your experience cute like out of a scene of a corny rom-com.

7 - Go on a Road/Day Trip

Road trips and day trips are pretty much exactly what we all need right about now. With the current state of the pandemic, most of us have been severely lacking in our travels and the travel-itch is only getting stronger! Taking a road trip to somewhere nearby is a relatively safe option as you could spend most of your time outdoors while still travelling.

8 - Roller Skating

Roller skating and/or skateboarding are always a fun time. Even though indoor roller rinks aren't the safest options at the moment, you can always go grab yourself a pair of roller skates and skate at a skatepark or any open flat ground that you may find such as an empty parking lot.

Roller skating is a great way to get active and spend time outdoors while enjoying each others time, and being socially distanced from others who may be at the skate park.

9 - Build a Fort

I know it may seem a bit immature, but building a fort will bring you an unexplainable joy, just trust me. Who didn't have the best time building forts with their friends when they were younger?? I know I did!

You could always hook up a projector, have snacks, cuddle, or whatever else you want to do in your newfound kingdom.

10 - Go Paddle Boating

If you're lucky enough to live next to a lake that offers paddle boat rentals, or you have a paddle boat of your own, I highly recommend hitting the water this Valentine's Day. You could go for a romantic sunset paddle cruise or just enjoy the day on the lake.
